Orla G. Thompson has been installed as the assistant corporate secretary to the Defense Association of New York (DANY) for the 2024 – 2025 term. She has been a board member of DANY since 2020, and served as treasurer for the 2023 – 2024 term. Orla co-chairs the Products Liability and the Young and New Lawyers Committees, and is a member of the Judicial Screening Committee, and the DRI and Other Bar Organizations Committee. DANY has served New York's Civil Defense Bar and legal community since 1965, bringing together attorneys and qualified non-attorneys in the state of New York who devote substantial professional time to the handling of litigated cases primarily for the defense.

Orla is a seasoned litigator concentrating her practice on product liability, mass torts, construction, commercial litigation, and insurance disputes. With a client-driven and case-specific approach, she fosters a collaborative environment to ensure successful outcomes. She is deeply committed to diversity, community service, and pro bono efforts.
