Sam focuses his practice on state and local tax (SALT) matters for both direct and indirect taxes. He regularly advises clients in connection with mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures and has experience performing buy-side and sell-side tax diligence, leading remediation efforts for identified risks, and assisting with post-close integrations. Sam also provides tax advice regarding expansions into U.S. markets, real estate transactions, and the taxability of clients' products and services. In addition, he has experience representing businesses and individuals involved in tax controversies (audit through administrative appeals) in various jurisdictions.

Prior to joining the firm, Sam held tax roles at a large tax consulting firm, an AM Law 100 firm, and a multinational defense contractor.

Sam earned his B.S. in finance, cum laude, from the University of Rhode Island and his J.D. from Northeastern University School of Law.
